Rachel's Wedding Recap

It feels like I wrote my engagement and wedding venue sourcing blog post just yesterday, and now I’m writing this post-wedding follow up. They (whoever “they” is) aren’t kidding when they say this time in your life goes by so fast. As cliché as it sounds, the wedding weekend was magical and everything we had hoped it would be.

In fact, pretty much everything went according to plan, but I guess that’s what happens when an Event Manager marries a Federal Planner, and they hire a Wedding Planner to help them ;) Shoutout to Konsider it Done!

The most important lesson I took away from wedding planning was the importance of hiring a wedding planner. Go figure! Despite my husband and I both being planners by profession (and being Type-A people), the need for a planner was crucial. Our wedding planner was there every step of the way from vendor recommendations and coordination, budgetary guidelines, appointment scheduling, and most importantly managing the timeline on the day-of. Staying on track and making sure everyone is where the need to be and when is probably one of the hardest – but most vital – pieces to any event and even more of a reason to hire someone to do this on your behalf!

This was a great reminder to me of why the need for a planner in the corporate world is essential too. DINEvent’s complimentary service is there to find you the best venue, and our Premium services do everything beyond this! The staff from my venue wedding was present to make sure everything ran smoothly, but it was Konsider it Done who was on the frontlines, working directly with my husband and me, their clients! This holds true when DINEvent is there at your event providing on-site support. Our team will be there with yours, every step of the way.

Another take-away is how important it is to have a good vendor team! Whether it’s a wedding with 10+ outside vendors, or a corporate event with just 1 or 2 additional vendors, a strong team makes all the difference. I may be biased but I loved all our wedding vendors. I’ll let the photos below (thank you, Mary Claire!) speak for themselves.

Planners & Designers: Konsider It Done / Venue: Omni Montelucia / Photographer: Mary Claire Photography / Videographer: Serendipity Cinema / Florist: Array Design / Rentals: Bright Event Rentals & Prim Rentals / Linens: BBJ La Tavola / DJ & Additional Musicians: Ryan Ingram / Stationary & Signage: Freja Creative / Cake & Dessert: A Bakeshop / Photo-booth: Modern West Photo-booth / Wedding Dress Designer: Sarah Seven / Alterations: Gemma's Fashion / Bridesmaids Dresses: Azazie / Menswear: Nick's Menswear / Hair & Makeup: Makiaj Beauty

One final note about the wedding planning process, was how special it was to have my DINEvent family play such a huge role. Amanda and Anayis were a reliable resource throughout the engagement to bounce ideas with and run things by, since they are both so knowledgeable about all things planning! Amanda’s oldest daughter, Abigail, was the flower girl and Anayis was a bridesmaid.
